Please call the office to schedule an appointment:
Our patients continue to be our priority during this national emergency from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We will provide care as long as possible in a safe and effective way. By introducing telemedicine (video-chat) patients with symptoms concerning for COVID-19 can still get treatment without leaving their home. By working together, we are confident we will be able to continue to provide our services during this difficult time.
Telehealth FAQ
What is Telemedicine?
Telemedicine is a way for you and your doctor to talk over video by using a phone or computer. After your doctor listens to your symptoms, he/she can figure out an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan to help you feel better all from the comfort of your own home.
Why now and why me?
Safety is our main concern and we are trying our best to stop the spread of COVID-19. The Centers of Disease Control (CDC) has recommended “social distancing” in an effort to reduce contact with one another to slow down the spread of the virus. Since there are not enough tests available to find out who has COVID-19, we are being extra careful with who we will see in our office. Telemedicine may also help those patients who are unable to come to our office for treatment.
Will my health information be secure?
Yes, we meet the standard of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). This is the standard set by our government to make sure your health information is kept safe and secure.
What are the benefits?
It’s safe, easy and saves you time. You won’t need to leave your home which lowers your risk of getting COVID-19. It will also help reduce the amount of time you have to take off from work.
Is this service covered by my insurance?
Yes, for the majority of patients, but a co-pay may still be required for some people.
Don’t I need to be examined for proper treatment?
Not necessarily. By talking to you in detail we can help get you better now and schedule an office visit later. Our goal is to not delay treatment and help as many people as we can while keeping your health and safety as our first priority. In the event your provider determines that you would need an in person evaluation, you would be referred to an appropriate clinic.
What do I need for a telemedicine evaluation?
If you have a cell phone (i.e., iPhone, Android) or a computer with video and microphone that’s all you really need. We can send you an email or a text message with a link to connect. You will be given an appointment time so that you can connect with one of our doctor’s from the comfort of your home. We understand this type of medical care is new to many of our patients and we are happy to help answer any questions.
